Loretta Watson and her husband, Odell Watson, instilled in their five children that faith in God, doing your best work, and helping others in need are the keys to living a good life. They also believe that getting a good education provides people with the career skills and personal development opportunities to improve their lives and change the world for the better.
A generous and gifted professional, Mrs. Watson felt that she wanted to do more to help deserving students who, although having academic potential and exemplary leadership qualities, were less likely to continue their education because of environmental risk or financial hardship. Through the establishment of the Cornerstone Charitable Scholarship Trust, Inc., she sought to help future generations of deserving people with roots in Arkansas obtain a quality education.
